The 10 Best Sales Hiring Tools for 2026, Ranked
The best sales hiring tools ranked by whether they show you how a candidate actually sells, how fast you get a shortlist, and what you pay to find out.
The best sales hiring tools do one thing most hiring software does not: they show you how a candidate actually sells before you spend a week interviewing them. Most "best of" lists for this search are generic applicant tracking systems and job boards. This one ranks ten tools by what matters for a sales hire, and puts a scored sales call at the center.
A disclosure first: we built the tool ranked number one, Hiring Beagle. We explain below exactly why it is first, and which teams should pick something else. Every other tool is described from its own vendor page.
How we ranked the best sales hiring tools
Four criteria, in order of weight:
- Does it measure selling? Watching a candidate run discovery and handle objections beats asking them about it. In the largest recent re-analysis of hiring research, Sackett and colleagues (2022), structured interviews and work samples sat near the top while unstructured interviews fell to the bottom.
- How fast do you get a shortlist? Weeks of screening calls cost more than most software.
- What does it cost, and when do you pay? Published pricing and pay-on-hire beat "contact sales."
- Is it fair and disclosed? Consistent scenarios, human review, and candidate consent matter, especially under AI-hiring rules like New York City's Local Law 144.
Why weight selling so heavily? Because the spread between reps is huge: reps working the same leads can close at very different rates, as our case study shows. The right tool helps you hire from the top of that range.

1. Hiring Beagle
Best for: startups and SaaS teams hiring AEs or SDRs who want to see selling before they interview.
Hiring Beagle tests every candidate on a call with an AI buyer and produces a Sales Print: a selling-skills score out of 100 across discovery, listening, value, objection handling, next steps and product knowledge, with a confidence band. Selling style is described but never scored, so nobody is ranked on personality. SDRs get their own track, and a coaching-and-retry step shows who improves with feedback.
It ranks first because it combines the two things the rest of this list splits up: a work sample of real selling and a pool of candidates to hire from. You post a role, see reps who have already been scored, request intros, and only meet the ones who say yes. If you upload your own deals, it ranks candidates by how closely they sell like your best closers.
Pricing: posting a role is free and you pay only when you hire. A managed search is also available, where the team studies how your best reps sell and interviews the strongest candidates for you: a refundable $1,000 deposit credited toward a fee of 10% of first-year OTE, net 30, with a 90-day replacement guarantee. Details are on the employer page.
Pick something else if: you hire hundreds of reps a year through an existing applicant tracking system and only need an assessment step, or you hire for roles in New York City and need a vendor with a published bias audit today.
2. CodeSignal AI Interviewer for Sales
Best for: larger teams that want AI interviews plugged into their existing hiring stack.
CodeSignal's AI Interviewer for Sales runs AI-led interviews for AE, SDR, BDR and sales manager roles and scores value selling, discovery, persuasion, coachability, active listening and pitching. It connects to applicant tracking systems. You bring the candidates.
3. Vervoe
Best for: teams that want a traditional skills-assessment platform with a real work sample.
Vervoe's sales simulations put candidates in a mock CRM to pitch, handle objections and close across email, video and documents, then grade the work automatically. Tracks exist for SDR, AE and account manager roles. Pricing is by request.
4. Fabric
Best for: teams hiring SDRs and AEs at volume who want a consistent AI interview.
Fabric runs AI interviews built for sales roles, using the same scenario and objections for every candidate, and scores pitch delivery, objection handling and discovery. It also has a dedicated SDR track.
5. PitchMonster
Best for: sales leaders who want a scored role play and a human in the loop.
PitchMonster's hiring product records a role play, produces a transcript and scorecard, and lets candidates take a second attempt after feedback. The vendor positions it as support for structured human judgment rather than a replacement for it.
6. Objective Management Group
Best for: B2B teams that want a sales-specific questionnaire before interviews.
Objective Management Group assesses 21 sales competencies, grouped into the will to sell, sales DNA and tactical selling, and returns a recommended or not-recommended result. It is the most sales-specific questionnaire on this list.
7. TestGorilla
Best for: small teams that want self-serve tests with published pricing.
TestGorilla offers multiple-choice sales tests (B2B account executive, lead generation, outside sales) alongside cognitive, personality and video tests, at roughly ten minutes per test. It is the only tool here with public self-serve pricing: a free tier and paid plans from $215 a month billed annually, per its pricing page. Multiple choice measures whether someone recognizes good selling, not whether they can do it live.
8. Criteria (SalesAP and CCAT)
Best for: high-volume inside sales hiring that needs a fast first filter.
Criteria pairs SalesAP, a 140-item sales personality inventory, with the CCAT, a 15-minute cognitive aptitude test. Use them to narrow a large pool, then add a work sample. Sales research suggests aptitude predicts manager ratings of salespeople much better than it predicts actual sales results.
9. RepVue
Best for: reaching experienced sales candidates where they research employers.
RepVue is where sales professionals anonymously rate the sales organizations they work for, with more than 250,000 raters and over 15,000 companies covered, alongside salary data and a board of open sales jobs. It does not assess candidates. Its value for a hiring team is reach and reputation: strong reps check it before they take an interview.
10. LinkedIn Recruiter
Best for: teams with a recruiter who will source and message candidates directly.
LinkedIn Recruiter offers 40-plus search filters, InMail credits each month per seat, and an optional AI Hiring Assistant that searches, reviews applicants and drafts outreach. It finds candidates but tells you nothing about how they sell, so pair it with a work sample. Pricing is by quote.
How do you choose a sales hiring tool?
Match the tool to where your process breaks:
- You get plenty of applicants but hire the wrong ones: add a scored sales call. Hiring Beagle, Vervoe, PitchMonster, Fabric and CodeSignal all sit here.
- You do not get enough strong applicants: start with reach. Hiring Beagle's matched pool, RepVue and LinkedIn Recruiter help most.
- You hire at very high volume: a fast aptitude or knowledge filter (Criteria, TestGorilla) up front, then a work sample for the shortlist.
- You have no recruiter and little time: pick a tool that both finds and vets candidates, so you are not stitching three products together.
Whatever you pick, finish with a structured interview. For more on the assessment side, see our comparison of sales assessment tools and our guide to AI sales role play for hiring.

Start on Hiring BeagleKey takeaways
- The best sales hiring tools show you a sample of selling, not just a resume or a personality profile.
- Hiring Beagle ranks first because it pairs a scored sales call with a pool of candidates and charges only when you hire.
- Assessment-only tools (CodeSignal, Vervoe, Fabric, PitchMonster) fit teams that already have candidates and an applicant tracking system.
- Sourcing tools (RepVue, LinkedIn Recruiter) bring candidates in but do not test them.
