# The Monday Signal Scan (Claude Code command)

The best outbound isn't a bigger list — it's the same list at the right moment.
This command scans your named accounts for fresh buying signals so Monday
morning starts with "who moved" instead of "who's next alphabetically".

**Install:** save the block below as `.claude/commands/signal-scan.md`. Keep a
simple `accounts.txt` in your workspace, one company per line (10-40 works best).

Run it like: `/signal-scan` every Monday.

```markdown
Scan the companies in accounts.txt for buying signals from the last 14 days.
Use web search. Signals, in priority order:
1. Leadership change in sales/marketing/RevOps (new VP = new tools budget)
2. Hiring: SDR/AE/RevOps roles opened (they are investing in pipeline)
3. Funding, acquisition, or expansion announcements
4. Product launches or big partnership news
5. Public posts by our buyer titles about problems we solve
For each company WITH a signal:
- Company | Signal | Date | Source URL | Suggested action
  (action = who to contact and the one-line angle the signal justifies)
For companies with nothing: one line, "no signal", move on. Do not manufacture
relevance - a quiet account this week is fine.
End with "This week's top 3": the three strongest signal+fit combinations and
a first-line draft for each, evidence-based, under 25 words.
Rules: last 14 days only (check dates), every signal cited, no paywalled or
login-walled sources, never guess at a signal you could not verify.
```

**Why 14 days:** signals decay fast. In our data, the reply window on a
job-change or hiring signal is measured in weeks, not months — most replies to
any outbound thread arrive within the first 7 days.
